Cool Hand Lou Salon is owned and operated by Lou and Jennifer Marini…a veteran husband and wife team serving the Dallas/Ft. Worth community for over 25 years. After earning their licenses in 1997, Lou and Jennifer immediately went to work for Avalon Salon, an upscale Aveda Concept Salon in Snider Plaza. Under the direct study of one of Avalon’s founders and owners, Rick Bowden, they both began their professional careers as “cutters”. With ongoing, mandatory weekly training under the guise of the Vidal Sassoon Professional Programme Avalon was so well known for, they both began honing their natural gift for technical and creative hair cutting.
In 2003, Lou and Jennifer proudly welcomed their daughter, Alaina Claire, into the world. Jennifer being a “stay at home mom” was important to them both, so she left the styling world to begin her new role as full-time mother…while Lou surged ahead at Avalon. Nearing his 4 year anniversary with them, Lou’s hunger to become a more versatile hairdresser took hold and he ventured out on his own to master his natural flair for hair color. Moving into North Dallas, Lou spent the next 6 years further developing his individual color and highlighting techniques, experience and resume…while Jennifer began sharpening her natural skills for branding, marketing, website design and client relations. Lou has now settled down into his own salon in West Plano this past decade…now appropriately named Cool Hand Lou Salon.
Lou Marini is one of those “natural” hairstylists. He is an Artist by nature and he has achieved MASTER STYLIST status. His experience along with his distinct flair for cutting and color are obvious each and every time a satisfied client leaves his chair. Whether the desired look is subtle, natural and healthy…possibly a more “edgy” look…or even down right punk rock…Lou’s abilities are limitless. With his vast experience, natural artistic talent, “people first” friendly attitude, FUN environment, as well as his longtime wife & partner by his side…it’s not hard to understand why Cool Hand Lou Salon has been such an ongoing success!
